What does it mean payment pending?

on ebay uk i quite clearly clicked pay now and confirmed it yet it says pending payment and the seller says he hasnt recieved payment

i know that it means awating payment but ihave already payed for it up to 24hrs ago

This happens to me quite a lot. It's just pay pal being a slow coach and they usually catch up within 24 hours.

Speaking from experience, sometimes there can be a computer 'glitch' and the payment doesn't go through. Before you pay again, check that your Paypal account hasn't been debited with the payment. If it hasn't go ahead and make the payment. Obviously if the payment has gone from your Paypal, get in touch with the seller to advise them and contact Ebay support to see what to do.
