How much does a foster carer get paid in the UK?

i believe it is about £90 per week for each child. I looked into fostering for a while. You also get an allowance to pay the child weekly pocket money, depending on the age of the child, plus extra payments for the childs birthday, at christmas, and a summer holiday payment. Obviously to provide the children with nice presents and a holiday and the usual extra's. It's not hugely profitable when you take into account the expenses of looking after the child/children, but i would imagine it to be highly rewarding and it is doing a great thing. I am not sure if your working family tax credit can go up for each child or if you can claim the child benefit for them if you are fostering. Good luck. Social services run courses for people considering this which will be very helpful to you.
