How to stop a direct debit with Symantec/Norton antivirus?

Resolved Question

How to stop a direct debit with Symantec/Norton antivirus?

I installed Norton antivirus, paying with a credit card for a three year special price deal, it is now the fourth year and I wish to cancel the payment/direct debit, however I have been unable to obtain a response from Symantec Customer services to my emails requesting a cancellation of the direct debit. Could anyone help, who/how and where can I contact someone at Symantec, or effectively cancel the direct debit to my card? Many thanks

As you have done what you are supposed to do, contact your credit card company and ask them for help. It's true you can't stop a DD from the credit card co. only the receiving firm can do this. But if you are getting no response I am sure your credit card co will help.

  • if you pay by credit card the Company can take payments as long as the card is valid,,, the bank or credit card Company cannot do anything to stop the payments,,,,,you could cancel the card and no more payments can be taken from it( the best way is to say you have lost the card and cannot find it)
if you pay by direct debit thru your bank , you can phone the bank and request them to cancel the direct debit,,, this they are obliged to do ,,
