Your quite obviously young and have a long way to go in life.
Don't worry about saving spend why you can adulthood will soon be upon you with no end of things that you will have to pay for.Enjoy why you can.If you want to be sensible give someone you can trust £5 a month you wont miss it and it will soon add up or buy a £5 gift token from you favourite clothes shop each month that-ll be £15 towards a present for yourself at Christmas.

  • One idea may be a payroll deduction into a savings account. If the money is taken out before you receive your check, you may be able to ignore the fact that you received it. You have to set financial goals, at first the goals need to be short term such as saving 10% of whatever is left after your monthly bills such as rent and utilities are paid. If you're able to do that, then begin trying to save more. You sound young, if you can trust your mother or father, give them them money to hold for you so it won't be so easy to just pull the money out of your pocket and spend it on things that aren't really needed.

  • You could open a savings account, have someone else put on the account with you and require both of you to sign for withdrawals. That is really just a "band aid" for the problem. The real problem is that you have no self discipline. That is what you need to fix. Before spending your money ask yourself "Do I need this or do I WANT this?" If it's a want then don't buy it.
  • i usually work out how much money i need for bills and petrol etc and transfer the rest into my savings account leaving a little extra for food/drinks or a nice treat.
i used to be so bad with my money too
